DHS CSF: Registration Information

Registration Guidlines

CSF is open for registration twice during the academic year at the beginning of both the Fall and the Spring semesters. The dates for registration for 2013-2014 are listed below:

Fall '13

September 16 to September 20 [12:00pm to 12:30pm in P-13]

September 23 to September 27 [12:00pm to 12:30pm in P-13]

Spring '14

February 18 to February 21 [12:00pm to 12:30pm in P-13]

February 24 to February 28 [12:00pm to 12:30pm in P-13]

From past experience, we advise coming on the earlier days of registration rather than waiting for the Friday of the last week as there is a high chance that you would not be able to register for CSF due to the long lines that we've seen in the past years. Friday at 12:30pm is the last time to register and no late registrations will be accepted. [Application left in CSF adviser's mailbox will not be accepted]

To register as a CSF member, you would have to fill out a pink registration form titled 'CSF Semester Membership Application' (You can find copies of these forms at the DHS front office, the library, P-13 or online)

Forms, especially e-mail addresses must be written legibly, almost all CSF communication is carried out through e-mails. If you do not receive a confirmation e-mail within two weeks after the end of the registration period, please contact us at dhscsf@gmail.com so that you can be subscribed to future updates.

To qualify for CSF, you must earn a minimum of 10 points from last semester's grades. (see back of registration form for point calculations for each course)

  •  The first 4 points must be from LIST I (unless you are a senior applying for membership in February or June)
  •  The first 7 points (including the 4 points from LIST I) must be from LISTS I and II
  •  The remaining points must come from any of the LISTs.
You can only use a total of 5 courses from the previous semester for point calculations.

Note: No points are granted for physical education, courses taken in lieu of PE, subjects repeated for improving a grade, courses involving clerking and office/teaching assistant along with courses taken on a pass/fail basis.

Only 1 additional point per course is granted for a grade of A or B in AP, IB or Honors courses and only 2 total additional points per semester.

  • Grade of A = 3 Points
  • Grade of B = 1 Point
  • Grade of C = 0 Points
Note: a grade of D or F in any course during the past semester automatically disqualifies you from membership at this time.

You must reapply each semester and bring the following on the day of registration:

  • $5.00 (Cash and checks accepted, make checks payable to Davis High School CSF)
  • A completed Membership Application form (pink)
  • Hours Sheet from previous semester (registration period for the following semester is the last time Hours Sheets can be turned in)
  • Last semester's grade report (mailed home at the end of each semester)

If last semester's grade report cannot be brought to registration, an official transcript must be requested from the DHS front office and no Zangle.com print-outs will be accepted. If ordering an official transcript, CSF is not responsible for any delays in the service as the front-office does not guarantee same-day service. Plan ahead of time to adjust for any conflicts!
